Alucard from Hellsing again...decided I'd give Nicholas a break for awhile (not much of one though) anyhoo, I've got a copy of Open Canvas as of today and I'm just trying it out...I haven't a friggin' clue how to use this thing (anybody wanna show me how?) but from what I see I kinda like Photoshop better (which is where I added the flame BG)...thanks for looking!

I love open canvas, simply because you can connect with other people and all draw on the same board. it's great, like a paintchat! I have an old version of OC that I like to use for sketching and scribbling. it's like a cheap version of painter. heh. or free in my case.
it's not too hard to use, and I like that it's got multiple layers and tools to play with. it just takes a little getting used to. I hated painter when I first got it because I had no idea how to use it, but I looked up some tutorials and now I use it more than photoshop and Open Canvas put together....I used to use OC all the time before I got painter. OC is like a program that doesn't kill your computer....it doesn't take up much space, and you can save the animations of your drawings, which is a nice perk, I think.
I have an old computer, so the low memory use of OC is really nice n_n;
btw: I Alucard. lurvely picture~! it's awesomely done. You just work with whatever you like best you know? but it's always a perk to be able to use more than one program successfully.

This newsletter was "born" back in March 2007, from a conversation between ~Lareth and =FrozenStarRo, who with the help of their friends *Iardacil and =Sylwiaa , wanted to make something to promote known and unknown photomanipulators alike here on DeviantArt. As of September 2009 =ImaginaryRosse joined the project and will be helping us out with the weekly choices. While things have changed over time, the essence of the newsletter is still the same. As of recent, the talented =Behana has joined us in bringing you this weekly newsletter and we are excited to have her on board. This is a special feature, with a selection of 50 manips from the past year that we loved.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.

In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
