This is what works for me and I tried covering all my bases, but if I missed something...or confused the blazes outta you, let me know okay?
I relize the file size is huge, so sorry if that's a problem.
Think of it as my way of thanking you guys for sticking around so long [four years, geez]....if there's any other 'How-To's you might be interested in, let me know and I'll see if I can help or not.
Forgive any typos...knowing me I'm sure there's a few.
And I have no idea why I started drawing Darth Maul...weird whim I guess.
Woot- I've never coloured in illustrator before- I usually only use it for speech bubbles and stuff. doesn't look too bad ^^ I don't know how everyone will be with grasping paths though- I never really picked them up myself... They do all sorts of weird things to me >.>
I feel your pain..believe me...I hated this program for years!
And I felt really stupid after I figured this method out...all those hours of painfully trying to master that pen tool, I won't say wasted per say, but sadly not needed.
Anyway, I've been trying to work with Illustrator in my graphics design class but it has got to be one of the most dull programs. It's probably that I can't make a lot of brush strokes, plus the program is a little uncooperative. But this is pretty damn awesome, and no doubt it'll come in handy.
Thanks very much for sharing!

Coloring in illustrator was something I could never really get a hang of. O_o I always exported my line art to photoshop. I'll have to give this a try someday.
Thanks for taking the time to make this tutorial

Have you noticed how many people have copy and paste signatures? If it were copy and paste art, it would never fly.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

But what you have shown... much easier than the evil things I was trying. I think I shall de-abandon my poor program and try again

Good luck if you do try again!

I should dust off illustrator and use it... probably my tablet too, the poor thing, though it makes this awesome coaster...
